Presentation

Giovanni Orsomando (1895-1988) was an Italian composer and Band Director. He studied composition and instrumentation at the Conservatory of Napels with Camillo De Nardis and Francesco Cilea. He wrote more than 120 compositions, many of which are still part of the repertory of many important, also Military, Concert Bands. Gaia is a classic of Italian traditional Band music, here adapted by Giovanni Dall'Ara for symphonic band that leaves intact the original flavor of the piece.
