Lux Mundi (Sinfonìa para Banda)

Brano vincitore Ex aequo del 6° Concorso Internazionale per Composizione "Romualdo Marenco" di Novi Ligure 2008- LUX MUNDI is a symphony that has a classic structure, although the used languages, they are characteristic of the s.XX. In the first movement the used language is of modal character and he has the structure in the way classic ALLEGRO-SONATA FORM, in the one that after an introduction divided in two parts, the first one by way of fanfare and the second of more intimate character, two topics are exposed separated by a transition. The exposition will conclude with a small conclusive theme, which will close this first great section. In the development designs appear, so much of the first theme as of the second that you go evolving until recapturing the recapitulation. In the recapitulation the elements of transition so alone disappear the main topics. The second movement, in slow tempo, it is structured in form of TERNARY LIED, using a language based on the method compositive of Edmond Costère, based on relationships and numeric relations, starting from which the whole material is built, so much harmonic as melodic, used to generate this second movement. In the third and last movement, he begins with a brilliant fanfare that will introduce us in the first part of this movement, with a theme of ternary character by way of false waltz. The second part of this movement is not more than a great fuge in which leave presenting all the instruments of the insole of the wind band, concluding with a brilliant coda.
