Composition premiered at Vietri Sul Mare (SA) on June 17, 2005 by the Military Wind Band conducted by Fulvio Creux. - Monti is the very first district of Rome. The name derives from the fact that it includes the Esquiline Hill, the Viminale (Interior Ministry), part of the Quirinale and Celio. Today, the Quirinale, Castro Pretorio and Celio do not belong to the district anymore, but the name remained. The present appearance is of narrow streets, worn by the time, the plaster buildings blackened by smog, craft shops, nightclubs and art galleries: it is the ancient Roman Svbvra, today Suburra. The composition describes all the features of the picturesque district of Rome with a succession of different atmospheres, starting with a walk during a feast day, the central part, slower and more reflective and ending with a sparkling and joyful final.
