They date back to 1536, the beginning of the long Spanish domination. In the Spanish Quarters the soldiers were in search of fun, and entertainment . The main activities of the District today are especially handicraft, often conducted by families. In the shops facing the streets bags, belts and shoes are made, but also restaurants and local "trattorie" are found where you can enjoy very simple but delicious Neapolitan specialities. The composition describes the atmosphere of the "quartieri". A slow, lyrical melody precedes the development of a popular theme. The finale is a "fuga" structured on a subject of Tarantella.
