Bugani, Fabrizio

He studied horn, composition and choir conducting in the conservatories of Bologna and Ferrara. He later studied orchestral conducting with Julius Kalmar and Ervin Açel at the Hans Swarowsky Academy in Milan and at the Akademie für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna.

He has dedicated much of his activity to theater music and film music, collecting prestigious collaborations with Alberto Sordi, Carlo Verdone, Piero Piccioni.

In 2000 he resumed his academic studies, graduating with honors in musicology at the University of Bologna, from which he also obtained a PhD in Music Philology with full marks and the Diploma of specialization in Musical heritage, always with honors.

Always interested in the world of Symphonic Bands, in which he carried out his first studies and musical experiences, in 1994 he obtained the three-year diploma of the Band Conducting courses of the Emilia Romagna region, subsequently deepening his studies with maestro Hans Obkircher.

For several periods he conducted the Symphonic Band of Città di Imola  and the San Macario Wind Ensemble from Imola, with which he obtained valuable results at the Flicorno D'Oro competition in the 1992 and 1997 editions.

In 2015 he resumed his musical studies by enrolling in the two-year course (II level) of the degree course in Composition and Wind Orchestra Conducting at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Milan with maestro Sandro Satanassi, graduating in 2018 with full marks and honors.

Since 2016 director of the Imola Brass Band with which he ranked 2nd in the second category at the Second National Competition for Brass Band.

He collaborates as a composer and arranger with the Edizioni Musicali Wicky  of Milan, Italy.
