IRLANDO DANIELI he studied classics and, at Milan Conservatory, Composition (graduated with honours, with F. Donatoni). In addition he graduated in Choral music, Direction and Choral direction and Polyphonic vocal composition. His compositions have received awards at various international competitions: Prix de Monaco, Gaudeamus Prize, Guido d’Arezzo international choral composition prize, Stockhausen prize.
Irlando Danieli he participated in numerous festivals, music seasons and international reviews in Italy and abroad. Moreover, he took part in: “Musica, macchine…magia” [Music, machine...magic] (Milan, Piccolo Teatro, 1987), “Festival internationale di musica elettronica [International festival of electronic music] (Milan, Ansaldo, 1990), “Akyoshidai international contemporary music seminar” (Hiroshima, 1991, 1992), “Festival di Primavera” [Festival of the spring] (Budapest, 1992; Prague 1993), “L’Europa dei compositori” [Europe of the composers] (1995, ’96, ’97, ’99), “Specchio d’Europa” [Mirror of Europe] (Milan, 2001-2002).
In the last years he presented a lot of important works, in Italy and abroad for many times, among which: “Laudes Mariae – Mystère”, “Cantico dei Cantici”, “Around Scorpio – A voyage around Scorpio constellation”, “Splendor – Canto dell’Aurora”, “Incantesimo dell’Orsa Maggiore”, “Eco e Narciso”, “Il Tempo di Bethleem – una sacra rappresentazione nel XXI sec.”, “Hyperurànios”, “Around Air – A legend in music”, etc.
“La Grande Opera – Quadri da “L’Alchimista” [Pictures from “The Alchemist”] by Paulo Coelho, for actress (or actor) and 57 percussions (ordered from “I Percussionisti della Scala”), programmed at Ravenna Festival and at Festival Latino Americano.
He edited the revisions of contemporary music important works and the piano scores of “Al gran sole carico d’amore” by L. Nono and “Blaubart” by C. Togni. Reviewer and lecturer, he collaborates with few publishing firms as a musicologist. He has worked as both assistant and substitute conductor at the RAI-TV.
Irlando Danieli from many years he is Professor of Composition at the Conservatory of Milan.
Several of hers compositions reveal his great interest in vocal music; besides, a few works are expressly composed to be performed by children or young boys and girls.
Publishers: Sonzogno, Ricordi BMG, Suvini-Zerboni, Edi-Pan, Antes, Edizioni Musicali Wicky, Rugginenti, Carrara, Amici della Musica di Arezzo and other. In 2015 at the Swiss Society she has received the prestigious Career Award "Myrta Gabardi".
