Orazio Maugeri, one of the leading figures in Italian jazz, lecturer in musical improvisation techniques at the “Vincenzo Bellini” Conservatory of Music in Palermo, teaches “saxophone and ensemble jazz music” at the “A. Corelli” Conservatory in Messina and “jazz saxophone” at the “Vincenzo Bellini” Music Institute in Catania. His discography has recently been increased to include the CD “Orazio Maugeri Andrea Pozza” on which he features as soloist and composer. Meeting Nunzio Ortolano led to his becoming part of the “Codice Mediterraneo Quartet” and to collaborating as a soloist in producing the CD Calagenda (EMW Edizioni Musicali Wicky, Milan).
